The file you are now reading is 0103indx.txt.  It lists and  
describes each file in this directory.  
  
The file ptaxstat.bas contains some digraph evaluation  
routines described in the May/June 2001 Computer Column.  
Ptaxstat.bas uses these routines to decide whether an  
unknown cipher is likely to be a Portax cipher.  
  
Comment added 10/29/01:  
  The DiAvg() routine contained a bug as described in  
the Nov/Dec 2001 issue of The Cryptogram.  Even though  
that bug has no effect on PtaxStat, the PtaxStat file  
has been updated with the corrected routine.  .
  
The file 01issu03.zip contains the files in this directory.    
The .zip was created under MS-DOS and its files are in   
DOS ascii text format.
