The file you are now reading is 9904INDX.TXT.  It lists and
describes each file in this directory.

The file 99JACCOL.COD contains the source code published in 
the Jul/Aug 1999 Computer Column of _The Cryptogram_.  This
source code is not executable as it stands.  It must be
merged with the May/Jun solver 99MJCCOL.BAS to form a solver
which uses statistical aids.  Instructions for merging the
code are included in the comments of 99JACCOL.COD.

99JACCOL.BAS is the complete program formed by this merging.
It is executable using the QBASIC interpreter.

The file 99ISSU04.ZIP contains the files in this directory.  
The .ZIP was created under MS-DOS and the text files are in 
DOS ascii text format.
